About Us

EcoTailor Homes is a Latvian company with deep roots and international experience in the production and construction of timber frame houses. Our story begins in 1960, when Sergio Oggero, father of the company founder Mauro Oggero, travels to Sweden to learn the secrets of timber frame house production and starts working at A-Hus AB.

After returning to Italy in 1963, Sergio founded his own company, La Foca Ville Nordiche, in Turin, specializing in the construction of Scandinavian-style timber frame houses. Until 1969, the company cooperated closely with the Swedish company, which supervised each project from design to assembly, ensuring the highest Swedish quality standards.

In 1999, inspired by the recommendations of Swedish and Finnish timber suppliers and the availability of high-quality timber in Latvia, the Oggero family decided to expand their business. La Foca Latvia was founded in Latvia in 2001 and a modern production facility was opened in Sigulda in 2004. Mauro, who grew up in the family business and was involved in all production and construction processes, inherited his father’s passion and experience. Mauro’s valuable knowledge, acquired over 40 years and his degree from the Passive House Institute, allowed him to continue and improve the family business, giving life to EcoTailor Homes, a company specialized in the production and construction of ecological and low-energy wooden frame houses, with a tailor-made design made to measure for the Customer.
